This "is the new" that....

So one of my pet peeves (of course I have lots. C'mon!) ... Is those "___ is the new ___" sayings. 

Like this:

Strong is the new skinny. 

To this I say, "Look crazy gym psycho, there's no "new" skinny or you would never have been motivated to work out until your boobs evaporated in the first place."

Or

Pink (or whatever color is in season according to the fashion police) is the new black.

I say. "There's no new black. Duh. Black is always and will always be in style. It's a neutral. There is also no new white, brown, or gray."

Let's get it straight, just because you're into something does not mean the classics are out. Five minutes from now your fad will be over anyway.
